Bahama Breeze Delight Recipe

  • Author: Imili Johnson
  • Total Time: 5 min

Ingredients

Scale

Ingredients

  • 2 oz coconut rum

  • 1 oz pineapple juice

  • 1 oz orange juice

  • ½ oz grenadine (for that sunset swirl)

  • ½ oz lime juice

  • Crushed ice

  • Pineapple wedge and maraschino cherry (for garnish)
    Optional Add-ins:

  • Splash of soda water (for a lighter, fizzy version)

  • Coconut cream (for added richness)

  • Mint sprig or edible flower (for extra island flair)

Instructions

Preparation Mix the base

Step 1: Add ingredients to shaker
In a cocktail shaker, combine 2 oz coconut rum, 1 oz pineapple juice, 1 oz orange juice, and ½ oz lime juice. Add a generous amount of crushed ice. Shake well for 10–15 seconds to blend and chill the ingredients.

Build the cocktail

Step 2: Pour into glass
Fill a tall glass or tiki glass with crushed ice. Strain the shaken mixture into the glass, leaving about an inch of space at the top.

Step 3: Add the grenadine
Slowly pour ½ oz grenadine into the drink. It will sink to the bottom and gradually rise, creating a gorgeous ombré effect that looks like a Bahamian sunset. Do not stir if you want to preserve the layered look.

Garnish and serve

Step 4: Garnish like a pro
Add a pineapple wedge to the rim of the glass and drop a maraschino cherry on top or skewer both together for presentation. Optionally, add a cocktail umbrella or mint sprig for a true tropical vibe.

Step 5: Sip and enjoy
Serve immediately with a straw. Stir slightly if you prefer a more blended flavor or sip as-is to experience the taste shift from tart citrus to sweet grenadine.

Variation

Notes

  • Always use fresh lime juice when possible—it adds brightness and balances the sweetness.

  • Shake with crushed ice for better dilution and texture, especially in hot weather.

  • Chill your glass ahead of time to keep the drink cool longer and enhance presentation.

  • Grenadine should be added last and gently for best visual effect—don’t skip this step!

  • Coconut rum adds sweetness, so taste before adding extra sweeteners or syrups.
