Description

A delightful combination of crispy shrimp and a creamy, spicy sauce that will make your taste buds dance.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1/2 cup cornstarch
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup sweet chili sauce
  • 1 tbsp sriracha (adjust to taste)
  • 1 tsp lime juice
  • 1 tsp honey (optional)
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • Chopped green onions for garnish
  • Sesame seeds for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix together cornstarch, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and paprika. Toss the shrimp in the seasoning mixture until well coated.
  2. Dip the seasoned shrimp into buttermilk, allowing excess to drip off.
  3. Heat vegetable oil in a skillet or deep fryer to 350°F (175°C). Fry the shrimp in batches for 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown and crispy.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, sweet chili sauce, sriracha, lime juice, and honey until smooth.
  5. Toss the fried shrimp in the Bang Bang sauce until evenly coated. Serve over rice or in lettuce wraps, garnished with green onions and sesame seeds.

Notes

  • Use fresh or properly thawed shrimp for the best flavor.
  • Fry in small batches to avoid overcrowding the pan.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 days.
  • For a healthier option, consider baking the shrimp instead of frying.
