Description
A delightful combination of crispy shrimp and a creamy, spicy sauce that will make your taste buds dance.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 1/2 cup cornstarch
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp paprika
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 1/4 cup sweet chili sauce
- 1 tbsp sriracha (adjust to taste)
- 1 tsp lime juice
- 1 tsp honey (optional)
- Vegetable oil for frying
- Chopped green onions for garnish
- Sesame seeds for garnish
Instructions
- In a large bowl, mix together cornstarch, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and paprika. Toss the shrimp in the seasoning mixture until well coated.
- Dip the seasoned shrimp into buttermilk, allowing excess to drip off.
- Heat vegetable oil in a skillet or deep fryer to 350°F (175°C). Fry the shrimp in batches for 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown and crispy.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, sweet chili sauce, sriracha, lime juice, and honey until smooth.
- Toss the fried shrimp in the Bang Bang sauce until evenly coated. Serve over rice or in lettuce wraps, garnished with green onions and sesame seeds.
Notes
- Use fresh or properly thawed shrimp for the best flavor.
- Fry in small batches to avoid overcrowding the pan.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 days.
- For a healthier option, consider baking the shrimp instead of frying.
