Description
Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Turnovers are delightful pastries filled with rich, creamy cookie dough and wrapped in flaky puff pastry, perfect for cookie lovers and pastry enthusiasts.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup mini chocolate chips
- 1 tablespoon milk (optional, for consistency)
- 1 sheet of puff pastry, thawed
- 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
- Powdered sugar (for dusting, optional)
Instructions
- Make the Cookie Dough Filling: Cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Add vanilla extract and salt, then gradually mix in the flour. If too crumbly, add milk until smooth. Fold in mini chocolate chips.
- Prepare the Turnover Dough: Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Roll out the puff pastry and cut into 4×4 inch squares.
- Assemble the Turnovers: Place 1 tablespoon of cookie dough filling in the center of each pastry square. Fold over to create a triangle and seal the edges. Brush with beaten egg.
- Bake and Serve: Bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown. Dust with powdered sugar if desired and enjoy warm.
Notes
- Keep puff pastry cold until ready to use.
- Chill assembled turnovers for 15 minutes before baking for better flakiness.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 1 day, in the fridge for up to 3 days, or freeze for up to 2 months.
