Ingredients

Scale

Ingredients:

  • 1 ½ oz vodka
  • ½ oz raspberry liqueur (e.g., Chambord)
  • Champagne or sparkling wine (to top off)
  • Red sugar for rimming the glass
  • Red food coloring (optional, for a more intense color)
  • Ice cubes
  • Optional garnish: red cherries, raspberries, or fake vampire teeth

Instructions

Preparation:

Step 1: Prepare your cocktail glass by rimming it with red sugar. To do this, dip the rim of the glass into a small dish of water or lemon juice, then dip it into a plate of red sugar until the rim is fully coated.

Step 2: In a cocktail shaker, combine the vodka, raspberry liqueur, and a few drops of red food coloring (if using) for a more vibrant appearance. Add ice cubes to the shaker.

Step 3: Shake the mixture well for about 10-15 seconds, ensuring the ingredients are fully combined and chilled.

Step 4: Strain the mixture into the prepared glass.

Step 5: Top off the drink with champagne or sparkling wine, pouring slowly to avoid disturbing the red sugar rim.

Notes

  • For a more dramatic presentation, drip red food coloring down the inside of the glass before pouring the drink. It will look like streaks of blood.
  • The sugar rim can be switched to black sugar for a more gothic aesthetic. This adds to the eerie atmosphere while still giving the cocktail a sweet touch.
