Whipped Kool-Aid – A Colorful, Creamy, Fun-to-Make Drink

  • Author: Imili Johnson
  • Total Time: 5 minutes

Ingredients

Here’s what you’ll need to make one serving of this magical drink:

  • 1 packet Kool-Aid (any flavor you love – cherry, grape, blue raspberry, etc.)

  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar

  • 1/4 cup cold heavy whipping cream

  • 1 cup milk (dairy or non-dairy like oat, almond, or soy – your choice)

  • Ice cubes (optional)

Optional Garnishes:

  • Whipped cream

  • Sprinkles

  • Fruit pieces matching your Kool-Aid flavor

  • Colored sugar rim or candy

Instructions

Step 1: Chill the cream
Start with very cold heavy whipping cream. The colder it is, the better it whips. You can even chill the mixing bowl for best results.

Step 2: Mix the whipped topping
In a small bowl, add your packet of Kool-Aid, sugar, and heavy whipping cream. Using a hand mixer, whisk, or milk frother, beat the mixture for 2–4 minutes until it becomes thick and fluffy. It should hold soft peaks and have a whipped, mousse-like consistency. You can adjust sugar to taste depending on how sweet you like it.

Step 3: Prepare the base
Fill a glass with ice cubes (if using), then pour in 1 cup of milk. You can use whole milk for a rich texture or opt for non-dairy if preferred.

Step 4: Assemble the drink
Spoon or dollop the colorful whipped Kool-Aid mixture on top of the milk. Use a spoon to gently swirl or layer it for a galaxy effect. Garnish if desired.

Step 5: Sip and enjoy
Stir the whipped topping into the milk for a creamy, fruity blend or sip it in layers for contrast. Either way, it’s pure magic in a glass.

Notes

The key to achieving the best whipped topping is using very cold cream and beating it long enough to get soft peaks. If your cream is too warm or not whipped long enough, it may stay runny. Always taste the whip before assembling and adjust sugar or Kool-Aid for your desired sweetness and flavor strength. You can even freeze the whipped topping for a few minutes to firm it up if needed.
