Meet Imili
Hi, I’m Imili Johnson, and I’m so glad you stopped by Cookefast. I’m a home cook, a wife and a mom of three. I’m originally from Boston, and today my family and I live in Colorado.
My story
For me, cooking has always been about the people at the table. One of the recipes closest to my heart is Pumpkin Shakshuka. My husband told me that when he was a little boy, his mother used to make it, and he loved it. I make it for him now to remember her, and the first time I served it, he told me it tasted just like the one his mother made. That is when I knew a good meal is really about the people sitting down to eat it.
My mother taught me to cook. The first recipe I ever made was a Dutch Apple Pie, and I have loved making recipes ever since.
I am a home cook with 8 years of experience making recipes, and I learned from my mother.
When we moved to Colorado, cooking became how I made the new place feel like home, and cooking for my husband and our three kids is still what drives every recipe here. I started Cookefast 3 years ago because I have a passion for sharing my recipes with the people who visit my website.
How our recipes are created
The recipes and stories on Cookefast are my own. I use AI tools only to check my grammar and spelling, and I write and approve everything that is published.

One recipe I have cooked and shared here is my Pumpkin Shakshuka. I make it with Eggland’s Best eggs, and my husband says it tastes just like his mother’s.
