Ingredients
Scale
Ingredients:
- 2 ribeye steaks (rich in flavor and perfectly suited for blackening)
- 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined (adds a sweet, delicate seafood contrast)
- 2 tbsp blackening seasoning (adjust to your spice preference)
- 3 tbsp olive oil (for cooking and searing)
- 3 tbsp butter (for a rich flavor base)
- 4 cloves garlic, minced (adds aromatic depth to the Alfredo sauce)
- 2 cups heavy cream (the base of the Alfredo sauce, creating a creamy texture)
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese (the star of the Alfredo sauce, adding sharp and savory flavor)
- 8 oz fettuccine pasta (the perfect pasta to hold the creamy sauce)
- Salt and pepper to taste (to enhance the overall flavor)
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish, adding a fresh herbal finish)
Instructions
Preparation:
Step 1: Seasoning the Steak
- Generously season both sides of the ribeye steaks with blackening seasoning. Ensure the steaks are evenly coated for maximum flavor.
Step 2: Cooking the Steak
- Heat 2 tbsp olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Once the oil is hot, add the steaks to the skillet. Cook the steaks to your preferred level of doneness (about 4-5 minutes per side for medium-rare).
- Once cooked, remove the steaks from the skillet and set them aside. Let them rest for a few minutes before slicing to retain their juiciness.
Step 3: Cooking the Shrimp
- In the same skillet, add 1 tbsp olive oil and 1 tbsp butter. Once heated, add the shrimp and cook for 2-3 minutes per side until the shrimp are pink and opaque. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
Step 4: Making the Alfredo Sauce
- In a separate saucepan, melt the remaining 2 tbsp butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute, just until fragrant.
- Pour in the heavy cream and bring the mixture to a simmer, stirring occasionally. Once simmering, add the grated Parmesan cheese and stir until the cheese has fully melted and the sauce has thickened. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Step 5: Cooking the Fettuccine
- Cook the fettuccine pasta according to the package instructions until al dente (about 8-10 minutes). Drain the pasta and immediately add it to the Alfredo sauce, tossing to coat the noodles evenly.
Step 6: Serving
- Slice the rested steak into thin strips.
- On a large serving plate or individual plates, create a bed of Alfredo-coated fettuccine. Top with slices of steak and shrimp.
- Garnish with chopped fresh parsley for a vibrant touch.
Notes
Cooking Note:
- You can easily customize this recipe. For a lighter version, swap out heavy cream for half-and-half, though it may result in a less thick sauce.
- Feel free to replace shrimp with chicken, or add vegetables like mushrooms or spinach for a variation. You can also control the heat of the dish by adjusting the amount of blackening seasoning to suit your preference.
