Ingredients
Ingredients:
For the Garlic Butter Steak Bites:
- 1 lb (450g) sirloin steak, cut into bite-sized cubes
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme (or fresh, if available)
- 1 teaspoon dried rosemary (or fresh, if available)
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
For the Creamy Parmesan Pasta:
- 8 oz (225g) pasta (such as fettuccine or penne)
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
- 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional, for added heat)
Instructions
Preparation:
Step 1:
Begin by cooking the pasta according to the package instructions. Use salted water and cook until al dente. Drain and set aside, reserving a cup of pasta water for later use.
Step 2:
While the pasta is cooking, season the steak cubes generously with salt and black pepper. Make sure each piece is well coated for maximum flavor.
Step 3:
In a large skillet, melt 2 tablespoons of butter over medium-high heat. Once melted, add the seasoned steak bites in a single layer. Cook for about 3-4 minutes without moving them, allowing a nice crust to form.
Step 4:
Flip the steak bites and add the minced garlic, thyme, and rosemary to the pan. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, stirring occasionally until the steak is cooked to your desired doneness (medium-rare to medium is recommended). Remove the steak bites from the skillet and set aside.
Step 5:
In the same skillet, reduce the heat to medium and add the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter. Once melted, add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant. Pour in the heavy cream and bring to a gentle simmer, stirring to combine.
Step 6:
Add the grated Parmesan cheese to the skillet and stir until melted and creamy. If the sauce is too thick, add a little reserved pasta water to reach your desired consistency. Season with salt, black pepper, and crushed red pepper flakes if using.
Step 7:
Combine the cooked pasta with the creamy sauce, tossing to coat the pasta evenly. Finally, add the garlic butter steak bites back into the skillet and mix gently until everything is well combined and heated through.
Notes
- Ensure your steak is at room temperature before cooking for even cooking. Avoid overcrowding the pan to achieve that perfect sear on the steak.
