  • Author: Imili Johnson
  • Total Time: 20 minutes

Ingredients

Scale

Ingredients:

For the Special Sauce:

  • ½ cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons pickle relish
  • 1 tablespoon yellow mustard
  • 1 teaspoon white vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon paprika

For the Burger:

  • 1 pound ground beef (divided into 4 thin patties)
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 4 sesame seed burger buns (2 tops and 2 bottoms for each burger)
  • ¼ cup finely diced onion
  • ½ cup shredded lettuce
  • 4 dill pickle slices
  • 4 slices American cheese

Instructions

Preparation:

Step 1: Make the Special Sauce

  1. In a small bowl, combine mayonnaise, pickle relish, yellow mustard, white vinegar, onion powder, garlic powder, and paprika.
  2. Stir until the ingredients are fully blended.
  3. Cover and refrigerate the sauce while preparing the rest of the burger.

Step 2: Prepare the Beef Patties

  1. Divide the ground beef into 4 equal portions and shape each portion into a thin, round patty.
  2. Season both sides of each patty with salt and black pepper.
  3. Heat a skillet or griddle over medium-high heat and cook each patty for 2-3 minutes per side until browned and cooked through.

Step 3: Toast the Buns

  1. Separate the sesame seed buns into tops and bottoms. Use the bottom bun from two additional buns to create the “middle bun” layer.
  2. Toast the cut sides of the buns in a skillet over medium heat until lightly golden.

Step 4: Assemble the Big Mac

  1. Bottom Layer: Spread 1 tablespoon of the special sauce onto the bottom bun.
  2. Add a sprinkle of diced onions, a handful of shredded lettuce, a slice of American cheese, and one cooked beef patty.
  3. Place the middle bun slice on top of the first layer.
  4. Middle Layer: Spread 1 tablespoon of special sauce onto the middle bun.
  5. Add diced onions, shredded lettuce, and 2 dill pickle slices.
  6. Top with the second beef patty.
  7. Top Layer: Place the top bun on the stack to complete the burger.

Step 5: Serve

  1. Gently press down on the burger to secure the layers.
  2. Serve immediately with French fries, onion rings, or your favorite side dish.

Notes

COOKING Note:

  • Meat Options: Swap ground beef with ground turkey or plant-based patties for a healthier alternative.
  • Extra Sauce: Double the sauce recipe for extra dipping or drizzling.
