Ingredients
- 1 packet Kool-Aid (any flavor of your choice)
- 1/2 cup cold water
- 3 packets (3 tablespoons) unflavored gelatin
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar (optional, for added sweetness)
- 1 tablespoon honey or corn syrup (for a smoother texture)
- Cooking spray or oil (for greasing the molds)
Instructions
Step 1: Prepare the Gelatin Mixture
- In a small saucepan, pour 1/2 cup of cold water.
- Sprinkle the 3 packets of unflavored gelatin over the water and let it sit for about 5 minutes to allow the gelatin to bloom. This will help create a smooth, uniform texture in the gummies.
Step 2: Add the Flavoring
- Once the gelatin has bloomed, place the saucepan over low heat and gently stir the mixture until the gelatin completely dissolves.
- Add 1 packet of Kool-Aid powder and mix well to ensure even color and flavor distribution.
- If you want your gummies to be sweeter, stir in 1/2 cup of sugar and 1 tablespoon of honey or corn syrup. Continue stirring until everything is fully dissolved.
Step 3: Pour the Mixture into Molds
- Lightly grease your silicone molds or gummy bear trays with cooking spray or a small amount of oil to prevent sticking.
- Carefully pour the warm mixture into the molds using a dropper or small spoon to avoid spills.
- Lightly tap the molds on the counter to remove any air bubbles.
Step 4: Let the Gummies Set
- Place the filled molds in the refrigerator and allow the gummies to set for at least 1 hour or until firm.
Step 5: Remove and Store
- Once set, gently pop the gummies out of the molds.
- Store them in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days or in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
Notes
- Stir continuously while heating the mixture to avoid lumps and ensure an even texture.
- Avoid boiling the gelatin mixture, as high heat can weaken its thickening properties.
