Preparation
Step 1: Prepare the Crostini
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Arrange the baguette slices on a baking sheet in a single layer.
- Lightly brush both sides of each slice with olive oil.
- Season the slices with a pinch of salt and freshly cracked black pepper.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 8-10 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the crostini are golden and crisp.
Step 2: Roast the Tomatoes
- Increase the oven temperature to 400°F (200°C).
- In a mixing bowl, toss the halved cherry tomatoes with 1 tablespoon of olive oil, dried oregano, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
- Spread the seasoned tomatoes on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Roast the tomatoes for 15-20 minutes until they are softened and slightly caramelized.As the tomatoes roast, their flavors will intensify, providing a sweet and tangy burst of flavor.
Step 3: Assemble the Crostini
- Allow the crostini and roasted tomatoes to cool slightly for easy handling.
- Next, spread a small dollop (about a teaspoon) of basil pesto onto each toasted baguette slice.
- Then, tear the burrata into small pieces and place a piece on top of each pesto-coated crostini.
- Finally, top the burrata with 1-2 roasted tomato halves.
Step 4: Garnish and Serve
- For extra flavor, drizzle each crostini with a touch of olive oil or balsamic glaze.
- Additionally, sprinkle freshly cracked black pepper or a few fresh basil leaves for a finishing touch.
- Serve immediately to enjoy the perfect balance of textures and flavors.

- Bread Selection: A French baguette works best for crostini, but you can also use ciabatta or sourdough for a more rustic touch.
