Ingredients
Ingredients
For the Steaks:
- 4 ribeye or filet mignon steaks
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
- 2 tbsp olive oil
For the Cajun Shrimp Sauce:
- 1/2 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 2 tbsp butter
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 tbsp Cajun seasoning
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Fresh parsley, chopped, for garnish
Instructions
Preparation Steps
Step 1: Season the Steaks
Generously season both sides of the steaks with salt and black pepper.
Step 2: Sear the Steaks
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Once the oil is hot and shimmering, add the steaks to the skillet. Sear each side for about 3-4 minutes or until you achieve your desired level of doneness. Remove the steaks from the skillet and set them aside.
Step 3: Prepare the Shrimp Sauce
In the same skillet, melt 2 tablespoons of butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic, stirring it gently for about 1 minute, just until it becomes fragrant.
Step 4: Cook the Shrimp
Add the shrimp to the skillet, cooking for about 2-3 minutes until the shrimp turn pink and opaque. Stir occasionally to ensure even cooking.
Step 5: Make the Sauce
Pour in the heavy cream and sprinkle in the Cajun seasoning. Stir the mixture, allowing it to come to a gentle simmer. Let the sauce cook for 3-4 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Step 6: Finish the Sauce
Sprinkle in the grated Parmesan cheese, stirring until it melts into the sauce. Adjust the seasoning if necessary.
Step 7: Serve
Return the steaks to the skillet, placing them in the sauce. Spoon the creamy Cajun shrimp sauce over each steak. Garnish with freshly chopped parsley.
Notes
Cooking Notes
For the best results, let the steaks sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes before cooking to ensure even cooking. Ensure the skillet is hot before adding the steaks for the best sear.
