Ingredients
Scale
- 1 (8 oz) can refrigerated crescent roll dough (or pizza dough)
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 packet taco seasoning (or 2 tablespoons homemade taco seasoning)
- 1 cup shredded cheddar or Mexican blend cheese
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 cup shredded lettuce
- 1–2 tomatoes, diced
- ¼ cup green onions (optional)
- Salsa or hot sauce, for drizzling (optional)
Instructions
Step 1: Prepare the Crust
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Roll out the crescent dough onto a large baking sheet or pizza stone, pressing the seams together to create a seamless crust.
- Bake for 8-10 minutes, or until golden brown and slightly puffed. Let it cool while you prepare the toppings.
Step 2: Cook the Taco Meat
- In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned, about 5-7 minutes. Drain any excess grease.
- Add the taco seasoning and ½ cup of water, stirring well to coat the meat. Simmer for 3-4 minutes until the sauce thickens.
Step 3: Assemble the Taco Pizza
- Spread the cooked taco meat evenly over the baked crust.
- Sprinkle the shredded cheese generously on top.
- Return to the oven and bake for an additional 5-7 minutes until the cheese is fully melted.
Step 4: Add Fresh Toppings
- Remove the pizza from the oven and let it cool slightly.
- Dollop sour cream across the top.
- Sprinkle the shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, and green onions over the pizza for a burst of fresh flavor.
Step 5: Slice and Serve
- Slice into squares or wedges and serve with salsa, hot sauce, or guacamole on the side for dipping.
