- Slider buns or hamburger buns, for serving
Instructions
Step 1: Cook the Meat
- Heat a Skillet: Place a large skillet over medium heat.
- Brown the Beef: Add the ground beef, breaking it apart with a spoon. Cook until fully browned, about 5-7 minutes.
- Drain Excess Fat: If needed, drain any excess grease before proceeding.
Step 2: Add Vegetables
- Add Onion & Bell Pepper: Stir in the chopped onion and green bell pepper.
- Cook Until Tender: Sauté for about 5 minutes, or until the vegetables are soft and fragrant.
Step 3: Mix in Ketchup
- Stir in Ketchup: Add 1 cup of ketchup and stir until the mixture is well combined.
- Simmer for Flavor: Let the mixture simmer for 3-5 minutes to allow the flavors to blend.
Step 4: Assemble the Sandwiches
- Toast the Buns (Optional): Lightly toast the slider buns for extra flavor and texture.
- Spoon the Filling: Generously spoon the Sloppy Joe mixture onto the bottom halves of the buns.
- Top & Serve: Place the top bun on and serve warm!
