Chocolate Cream Pie Milkshake

  • Author: Imili Johnson
  • Total Time: 5 minutes

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups chocolate ice cream
  • ½ cup whole milk (or any milk of choice)
  • ¼ cup chocolate pudding (prepared)
  • 1 tbsp cocoa powder
  • ¼ cup whipped cream (for blending and topping)
  • 1 tbsp graham cracker crumbs (for pie crust effect)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tbsp chocolate syrup (optional, for added richness)
  • Whipped cream, chocolate shavings, or chocolate chips for garnish
  • Extra graham cracker crumbs for garnish

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Blender

  1. Place your blender jar in the fridge or freezer for 5-10 minutes before making the milkshake. This helps keep the milkshake cold and creamy while blending.

Step 2: Add the Ice Cream and Milk

  1. Add 2 cups of chocolate ice cream to the chilled blender jar.
  2. Pour in ½ cup of milk to help the ice cream blend smoothly. If you prefer a thicker milkshake, reduce the amount of milk, or for a thinner shake, add a bit more.

Step 3: Incorporate Chocolate Pudding and Cocoa

  1. Spoon in ¼ cup of prepared chocolate pudding, which adds a rich, creamy texture reminiscent of chocolate cream pie filling.
  2. Add 1 tablespoon of cocoa powder for an extra chocolatey punch. This gives the milkshake a deep, intense flavor.

Step 4: Mix in Graham Cracker Crumbs and Vanilla

  1. Add 1 tablespoon of graham cracker crumbs to replicate the classic pie crust element of a chocolate cream pie. This adds a nice texture and subtle flavor to the milkshake.
  2. Stir in 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract to enhance the overall flavor of the milkshake and give it a warm, aromatic sweetness.

Step 5: Blend Until Smooth

  1. Blend the ingredients on medium speed until everything is combined and the milkshake has a smooth, creamy consistency. Stop and scrape down the sides of the blender if necessary.
  2. If you like your milkshake a little thicker, you can add a bit more ice cream and blend again, or if you want a creamier texture, add more chocolate pudding or milk.

Step 6: Add the Chocolate Syrup and Whipped Cream

  1. For an extra rich milkshake, drizzle in 1 tablespoon of chocolate syrup while blending.
  2. Add ¼ cup of whipped cream to the blender and pulse just a couple of times to combine. This gives the milkshake an airy, fluffy texture similar to that of a chocolate cream pie filling.

Step 7: Serve and Garnish

  1. Pour the milkshake into chilled glasses, leaving a little room at the top for garnishing.
  2. Top each milkshake with a generous swirl of whipped cream, then sprinkle with extra graham cracker crumbs, chocolate shavings, or chocolate chips.
  3. Drizzle a little chocolate syrup on top for extra indulgence, and serve immediately with a straw and spoon.
