Scale

Ingredients:

For the Chocolate Pudding Layer:

  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 package (3.9 oz) instant chocolate pudding mix

For the Peanut Butter Cream Layer:

  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • ¼ cup peanut butter
  • ¼ cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Other Layers:

  • 34 bananas, sliced
  • 1 cup whipped cream (for topping)
  • 1 cup crushed chocolate cookies or brownie pieces
  • Chocolate shavings (optional)
  • Crushed peanuts (optional)

Instructions

Preparation:

Step 1: Prepare the Chocolate Pudding

  1. In a medium-sized bowl, whisk together 2 cups of milk and the instant chocolate pudding mix until the pudding thickens.
  2. Chill the pudding in the refrigerator until set, about 15-20 minutes.

Step 2: Make the Peanut Butter Cream Layer

  1. In a large bowl, beat together 1 cup heavy cream, ¼ cup peanut butter, ¼ cup powdered sugar, and 1 tsp vanilla extract using a hand mixer or stand mixer.
  2. Beat until soft peaks form, then set aside.

Step 3: Assemble the Trifle

  1. In a trifle dish or individual serving glasses, begin layering the ingredients:
    • Start with a layer of chocolate pudding at the bottom.
    • Add a layer of sliced bananas on top of the pudding.
    • Follow with a layer of peanut butter cream.
    • Add a layer of crushed chocolate cookies or brownie pieces.
  2. Repeat the layers until the dish is filled, finishing with a layer of whipped cream on top.

Step 4: Garnish and Chill

  1. Garnish with chocolate shavings and crushed peanuts for added texture and flavor.
  2. Chill the trifle in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes before serving, allowing the flavors to meld together.

Notes

Cooking Notes:

  • For Extra Flavor: Drizzle melted chocolate or caramel between the layers for added richness.
  • Customizable: Swap peanut butter for almond butter or Nutella for a unique twist on this dessert.
  • Bananas: Use ripe, but firm bananas to prevent them from turning mushy in the trifle.
