  • 1 ½ oz (45 ml) coconut rum
  • 1 oz (30 ml) vanilla vodka
  • 1 oz (30 ml) cream of coconut
  • ½ oz (15 ml) heavy cream
  • 1 oz (30 ml) coconut milk
  • 1 tbsp honey or corn syrup (for rimming the glass)
  • 2 tbsp toasted coconut flakes (for rimming)
  • Whipped cream (for garnish)
  • Shaved white chocolate or a maraschino cherry (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

Preparation:

Step 1:
Begin by preparing your martini glass. Pour honey or corn syrup onto a small plate. Dip the rim of the glass into the honey, ensuring it is evenly coated. Then, dip the rim into the toasted coconut flakes, pressing down gently so that the flakes adhere well.

Step 2:
In a cocktail shaker, add ice cubes to chill the drink. Pour in the coconut rum, vanilla vodka, cream of coconut, heavy cream, and coconut milk.

Step 3:
Shake the mixture vigorously for about 20-30 seconds to ensure all the ingredients are well combined and chilled.

Step 4:
Strain the mixture into the prepared martini glass, allowing it to flow smoothly without disturbing the rim.

Step 5:
Top the drink with a swirl of whipped cream. For an added touch, sprinkle some shaved white chocolate or place a maraschino cherry on top.

Notes

  • Toasting Coconut Flakes: Place coconut flakes in a dry skillet over medium heat. Stir frequently until they turn a golden brown. Remove from heat immediately to prevent burning.
  • Cream of Coconut: This is different from coconut milk. It’s thicker and sweeter. Make sure to shake the can well before using.
  • Use Cold Ingredients: The colder your ingredients, the smoother the texture of the martini.
